Driving experiences while vacationing in Italy

I started my tour in Italy in Naples(Napoli). Very busy with a lot of shopping to encounter. Naples was a day trip from almost everywhere I wanted to go. I took the express train to Rome. A three hour trip reading my Italian guides, “Da Vinci Code” and “Angels and Demons”. Finally reaching Roma. I hailed a cab to Hard Rock Cafe for brunch. I made my way to the CIAO Italia tour company. It was red buses that have pick up and drop off times to all the nearest attractions. My first stop was to Vatican City. I was hoping to see the Pope. As soon as I stepped off the bus, I felt a calming feeling. The view was breathtaking. The tour group was just forming so I was just in time. We walked throughout the ancient buildings. We were not allowed to touch or photograph inside the Vatican. I tried to remember as much as I could. I bought some souvenirs outside Vatican City before the bus arrived to take us to the Colosseum (Colosseo) and Palatino. Joined another tour guide named Josh. We made our trek through the Colosseum were organized fights between gladiators and beasts were held. It had others uses as well. Another great piece of history before our eyes. I could spend all day here. Our Colosseum tour ended and we headed to the Borghese gallery. The museum houses collections by Bernini, Raphael, Caravaggio, Canova and Bonaparte. The sculptures were my favorite. I found a Trattoria and had “real pizza” as the Italians call it. The goat cheese was a new encounter but tasteful. The locals were friendly and bought wine which I enjoyed. I thanked the locals and went to the train station to head back to Naples.
The next day, I woke up early and went to Pompeii. It took about two hours. Once the train stopped, the train station was a lot smaller and had no tour information. I got a map and found my way a kilometer to the tour guides. We walked 10 kilometers to the ruins. Mt. Vesuvius was in clear view, a little steam coming from her. It was a very hot day. It was amazing to see everything so real. I couldn’t say a word. Our tour guide was very nice and bilingual in Italian and English. My tour ended and I found a restaurant to eat dinner before heading back to Naples. I tried the scallops and pasta. It was good, especially the sauce. I headed back to Naples and prepared for my beloved trip of all, Capri.
Instead of taking a train. I am taking a boat. Forty-five minutes later and we were on the Isle of Capri. All beaches are nice and beautiful, but this is amazing. Personal vehicles are not driven around the island. Only trucks delivering supplies and they are from the ’70’s. I got a cup of Italian ice and walked around the island. Capri has somewhat of a 5th avenue. A lot of the products are native to the island. The local artists allowed me too see them on their work in progress. The lipstick flowers make red lipstick and the lemons are used to make perfume. The blue grotto is phenomenal. The caves were amazing. Most of the tours are by boat on the outside of the island. There is a smaller Capri at the bottom of the island. It was a nice, long, winding walk down to the very bottom with somewhat a seperate island. More shopping and restaurants. Italy was full of excitement. The weather was hot, but spicy for the nightlife. Their were statues and paintings of Christ everywhere along the streets and inside of
buildings. Very exceptional in Italy.
