Even though they sound different, it is impossible for this reviewer to resist writing it: Nice is nice. Second only to Paris as a tourist destination, this is certainly one of the first places you should stop when in the country.

First you should taste some of the local culture. It is almost as good as the food! La Chateau is a great collection of markets that hearken back to the days of trade and bartering. The beaches are simply awesome. some of the best and most clean beaches reside in Nice. And yes, there is topless sunbathing. Pretty much everywhere. You might not want to take the kids to these beaches, but you will certainly want to take yourself! It is certainly an eyeful. And the fun part is that they revel in it….

As far as places to eat are concerned, there are a few options that stand out. Bocaccio is a nice Italian restaurant with a decent view and great prices. Nissa Soca is notorious for its wild atmosphere. It has great food for a low price, and even though it is an energetic atmosphere it is not intrusive.

The best place for fun at night is undoubtedly Wayne’s. This is a combination bar and dancefloor that will keep you involved and up all night. All the beautiful people seem to gravitate to this spot like a magnet, and the music is great.

Nice is a great place to visit if you are getting tired of the artistic bent of cities like Paris. This should certainly be very high on your list if traveling to France anytime soon.
