Naturists looking for a vacation location to bask at the beach in their birthday suits need not look any further than France. The French are not at all squeamish about showing skin, so lax, liberal and free-spirited France is the perfect place to bare it all.
CAP D’AGDE
Dubbed ‘Naked City’, where clothed folks feel strangely out of place, Cap D’Agde is a self-enclosed naturist site in the scenic Languedoc-Rousillon region. Cap d’Agde is not simply a resort, it is a complete village, where guests can sip their cafe au lait ’sans vetments’ at French coffee shops and buy baguettes in the buff at Cap D’Agde’s bakery.
As the largest and (arguably) most famous resort of its type, Cap D’Agde is situated close to the beach and is divided into zones which offer different trendy and stylish accommodations, ranging from Moroccan villas to duplexes, to apartments, to hotel rooms and campsites.
After sunset, the entire village pulsates with nightlife. Most guests dress up in wildly colorful and flamboyant costumes and outfits to attend the resort’s locales. Discotheques like Le Tantra, Le Glamour, Le Jules and Le Pharon each radiate with a different theme and specialty.
Some areas of the village are exclusively reserved for couples, although there are many child-friendly areas of the village as well, making the ‘ambiant at Agde’ ideal for all types of vacationers.
ILE DU LEVANT
Relatively unknown, only 8 km long and situated off the coast of the French Riviera, Ile du Levant is officially entirely naturist. Most of the island is owned by the French military, but there is still plenty of room for tourists.
Exotically beautiful and secluded, cars are not permitted on this castaway paradise, making it the perfect private hideaway for anyone who wants to live in ‘liberte’ at Levant.
Gorgeous and private Mediterranean villas dot the island and are available for rental. Levant’s three to four bedrooms villas are perfect for families and private couples and are elegantly furnished with trendy French furniture. Each villa has a panoramic sea-side terrace with breath-taking oceanviews.
While exploring the island, take a walk along “La Perspective,” a scenic trail full of colorful gardens with a ‘melange’ of plants like shrubs, cacti, palm trees, flowering plants and wild flowers.
CORSICA
The French island with a zesty Italian heritage is home to Napoleon Bonaparte and the longest naturist beach in Europe.
A popular naturist holiday destination, campsites and villages mark the Corsican coast. Nude resorts like Piana Verde are stretched out all over the 7km naturist beach and pleasure seeking paradise. Camping facilities and accommodations in Corisca include: Piana Verde, Club Corsicana, and les Eucalyptus.
La Chiappa is another naturist vacation village in Porto Vecchio, on the southern point of the island. This vacation village hosts a complete sports program for fitness buffs to work out in the buff, and is equipped with a ranch, sailing school, Finnish sauna, health school, supermarket and bazaar.
The spectacular Corsican coast vacillates between stretches of rock and sand, and many points of the island offer an unparalleled view of neighboring Sardinia.
